Welcome

Welcome to the 19th JCC Lane Dworkin Jewish Book Festival! Historically, the Jewish people have been known as the People of the Book. The Jewish Book Festival is dedicated to promoting this legacy by providing our community with an enriching showcase of Jewish authors and books. Through literature, author lectures, panel discussions, luncheon dialogue and a rich offering of books for sale, we continue to build community, foster ongoing knowledge and celebrate our Jewish identity.

Assembling the Book Festival is made possible thanks to the dedicated work of our Festival committee, the generosity of our donors and the enthusiasm of our community members who attend events and purchase books. We thank all of you for your help and  support.

We also extend our gratitude to Andrea Miller who -- after 12 years as the Director of the Lane Dworkin Jewish Book Festival and the Ames Amzalak Rochester Jewish Film Festival underwritten by Friendly's — has chosen to pursue other interests. We dedicate this year's program to Andrea for her exceptional leadership, strategic visioning and dedication.

We hope you will join us this year at the 2011 JCC Lane Dworkin Jewish Book Festival!

Lane Dworkin Jewish Book Festival Mission Statement

The Lane Dworkin Jewish Book Festival exists to create a showcase for Jewish authors and/or books of Jewish content. In so doing,  the Festival promotes awareness, appreciation and pride in the diversity of the Jewish people; strengthens community consciousness of Jewish identity, history and culture; and provides a community forum to stimulate dynamic and provocative dialogue.
