A Kosher 'Throwdown'

While cholent and challah sate our Shabbat appetites, and classics from brisket to latkes grace our holiday menus, a more common dilemma is, “What do we make for dinner tonight?” Leah Koenig, the monthly food columnist for The Forward, answers that question with more than 160 delicious, simple, kosher recipes that are destined to become family favorites. Her recipes span the culinary globe and celebrate fresh, seasonal produce and gourmet kosher ingredients, from artisanal cheese and chocolate to organic meat and poultry. In a JCC first, our evening will also feature a kosher “throwdown” – or what we used to call a cook-off. Two chefs compete, you be the judge!
